Well , after a long fight , the actual motor / trans and headers are on the car ..
clearly , oil filter is going to need to be short , what the best shortest one available ?
Or, is a remote filter a better plan , or a 90 degree ?
I know now why I only played with big blocks ..
also, what starter bolts do you need .. it will easy take me all winter to get it ready to start I'm sure , everything fights me

Wix # 51085 for the short one, # 51515 for the long one if using the 90 degree adapter ...I have had TTI headers on my small block Dart for about 4 years now .. hate them... I just ordered a set of Tubular Automotive brand to replace them

I'd use a remote, that's what I did on my SB Duster racecar. 90 degree has worked for me with a full-size filter on a street SB Duster, but that's tight and prone to oiling the headers unless you cover them. The remote avoids all that, but it does take a bit longer to spin up oil pressure. That hasn't become a problem, but it's a bit unnerving...
I had a BBB Duster with TTIs, and from the looks of them (I didn't do the install), they didn't fit that great OOTB. Interfered with idler & pitman arms, and ran almost on the side of the 727. To be fair, that was 10lbs in a 5lb bag.

I have TTi's on the 67 , they were tight but not bad .. looking on line , I see several people that run the TT'is and work fine but, just no room .. I am going to try a short filter 1st ,see if I can get by with that .. dumb place for a filter ( lol )

I see now a chart was posted but will post anyway sonce I took a picture. Please don't hate on the shine on the oil filter adapter or the AC Delco filter. I bought 80 something almost 90 short, medium and long on a close out. Paid $1.20 or less on each. All made by Wix some marked AC Delco, some as WIX, some as Car Quest and one more name I did not open the others boxes to see. Note the PF20 AC Delco is same size as a Fram PH43
They all were the same when I cut open a sample all WIX Here is a few I had handy on the shelf the medium is shown on the adapter. I had 10 or 12 of these cheap Purolater.the shelf, in addition to.the 90. So my wife may kill me one day and bury me with parts.

I DVRed the Engine Masters (Hot Rod) last Friday it is on Motor Trend. They showed cut open assortment of brands. Yes I know nothing new to us but hey it's TV Banged on how crappy the Fram PH8A is but did say yes they work. But please buy something better fur just pennies more. Sure that made Fram happy. But the part worth the 30 min less commercials was the money and time spent on Dyno runs with the different ones and flow rates. All came in close with the K&N RACE as top dog by a,C- Hair. The Wix Race and Wix Gold with a photo finish. Worth the watch even though we already know the info But I like watching the test the do on.the show at Westech

Both the remote adapter and the 90 degree should be ported. Your eye will tell you what needs to be done, just radius and blend all the sharp edges, holes, entrances, etc. Does it make a difference? It makes me feel better.

Lovely Wagon BigDaD! I deffo have Wagon envy right now lol... The early small blocks had remote filters up front with two feet of pipe! Bet they was a real mare to get any oil pressure lol... I thought you always had to use a 90 when fitting headers? I have an old 273 block were there is no filter system at all... Gonna save that one for drag racing duties methinks... If you build a clean engine and change the oil every run, who needs a filter?

Lovely Wagon BigDaD! If you build a clean engine and change the oil every run, who needs a filter? W.T.F.? Are you racing with Nitro? I found a eye lash in one of my old drag race engines using a remote mounted Olberg screen oil filter Everybody who races needs oil filters
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Well I’m not running a filter on my 340 race engine, in fact the oil is not routed over to the filter except for the accusump (the little freeze plug is removed). Magnets in the pan to catch the iron that will hurt stuff, the bronze and aluminum won’t hurt anything. Really how can ‘dirt’ get into a sealed race engine? By the rings, really, you believe that?.. If your filter IS filled with metal your engine is already toast because the damage occurred BEFORE it got to the filter, Spin on filters have by-pass valves to not starve the engine of an oil supply. Think about that for a moment, feel safer now?
