Rather than hijack someone else's thread, I thought I'd ask here. After having problems with two different manufacturers Hydraulic Roller lifters, I'd more or less come to the decision to throw in a set of solid rollers. Doubt my car even sees a thousand street miles a year and checking the lash every few outings is no big deal. The Combo is a 505 RB based stroker, with Indy EZ MW ported heads (through pushrod oiling), Harland Sharp 1.5 ratio rockers.
After a lot of rummaging, I finally found my cam card - it's nothing radical, looks a lot like a Comp XR286 but with a wider LSA, which as I'm running power brakes and EFI probably isn't a bad thing. Gross lift is IN .586", EX .544", duration @ .050 is IN 236, EX 244 on a 112lsa. Running whatever springs Comp suggested (I'm not sure what they are.)
With help from here, I'd narrowed the lifter selection down to: Comp AMC, with the mopar tie bars #861-16 or.. Howard Cams 91735s
Both seem to have pressurised oil to the roller and can oil through pushrods, the Howards are notably cheaper. Not looking for the perfect set up, just something I can run for a bit without having to worry about hydraulic lifters failing - does the set up with either of these sets of lifters sound doable?
Thanks!

I would go with Johnson rollers, NOT johnson hylift, I have the expensive Morel hydros push rod oiling in my 512, I had to set them .020 from the bottom to quiet them down, wish I would have gotten Johnson's, if I go into my motor, I am going to try & make my hydros solid

Curious, what kind of problems are you having with the hydraulic rollers? I would think with the introduction of hydraulic rollers with the later LA's, the Magnums, and now the third Gen Hemi's the technology would be sorted out by now.

“Usually”, there is enough difference in pushrod seat height between hyd rollers vs solid rollers that a pushrod swap is necessary.
I’d also re-verify those lifters do indeed have pushrod oiling.

I heard years ago that here were only two automotive lifter manufactures in the U.S. and one of them went B.K. shortly after that. Fast, do you know how many U.S companies are making roller lifters now for U.S. made motors?

I'm overthinking it for sure, there seem to be at least 7 or 8 options available but a lot look very similar (and I'm sure are probably made in the same place!) All I need is a set that have direct oiling for the rollers and through pushrod oiling for the rocker cups. With the modest cam and spring pressures I'm running I can't see needing anything too exotic. I'm redoing the fuel system at the moment anyway so will make up my mind at some point. If anyone has experience with a similar combo, please let me know! Cheers all.

When I was going through the cam change deal last year I spoke to Gaterman who makes the Hyd roller lifters for Howards. He told me some of the cam companies recommend too much spring pressure for the hydraulic lifter to operate. I can't remember the owners name but he was very helpful and eventually we came down to the solution for me was a solid flat tappet cam instead of a hyd, roller with my car being a manual transmission. Look up Gaterman lifters and talk to the owner there he is very helpful. Gus

I had a look at the BAM set - they do look good, not crazy expensive either. Definitely an option, thanks! Np, I used the bushings with DLC, hopefully they last for years.
