Guys all of these blocks are "cast" blocks some are iron and some aluminum. There finished state depends on a lot of factors and the final project. As delivered changes with each company and what additional machine work that is needed or that you pay to have done. You need to go into any purchase decision with eyes wide open about final ready to assemble costs. There are companies that will do you a true billet block but most of those are not really what MOST people here would want or need and usually start around 10000 or so

Maybe it's dumb to look back, but....back when the same casting, from the same tools/same foundry was $3200 not very long ago,
many people said that was highway robbery.....but every single one made was sold.

I predict the same thing will happen now at $5800: they will sell every one they make.

But....I wish I had hoarded more of them when they were 3200....

Id say by the time you are done with a billet block you are gonna be closer to $14K or more. Especially for a water version. Had a buddy just get his CN block an the finished bill was almost $16K shipped to his door.

Your $5800 in 2021 is the same value as your $3200 in 2008. A dollar's value is just a concept, it has no intrinsic fixed value. Inflation is blowing everyone out. S/F....Ken M

Well, call me a liar.....Not all the Callies Vendors heard about the price increase yet.....I just went and ordered one at the old price.....Should see it next week. It was in stock and listed at the old price, which I confirmed when I called on it, and so I ordered it....

Now, I am in the poor house!

And none of the blocks mention can be had with a 9.980 deck, except Indy. That I am aware of.

Correct....The Low Decks are lowest on the list...In fact, I am not sure some manufacturers are ever even going to offer one.

The pictures look like the old world block. Are they using the old molds?
