Later versions have two”fingers” coming from the housing. What ii their purpose?

They align on a tab cast into the block.

They don't align with anything on a 360 block so I drilled and tapped a hole between the fingers for a 10-32 capscrew.
It keeps the oil adapter from turning, loosening the big bolt in the center and causing a leak.

I think my 360 had something cast there but it was a different spot then where the 318 had it so I put it on roughly angled the way it was on the 318. 22 years later still no leak so I did something right.
