I am replacing my inside window belt weatherstrip on my 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner. The factory used lots of heavy staples. The manufacturer of the replacement weatherstrip tells me to drill holes in the weatherstrip and wire it on with stainless steel wire using the existing holes in the door panel. I would think that this would be very difficult to do. The man at a local glass shop says to drill new holes and pop rivet them on the door panels. What type of hardware should I use to use to attach the replacement window belt weatherstrip to the inside of the door panels?

I used screws but be careful where you install them. Out of memory they can interefere with hardware on the door. They sort of recess into the weather strip if I recall.

I was told to use a countersunk or bevel headed screw. I think wire or staples would be a PITA too!

I used counter sunk screws on mine. As stated above, be careful not to let them stick out or they could cause damage.
