If you do have disc brakes, this picture might help you identify exactly what you are looking for. see attachment.
i have owned 2 disc brake 1969 b bodies and neither have the portioning valve that was in that picture and both had the original line and brake setups in them still

Third piece is not used on cars built after 1/1/70, as the P-Valve was combined with the safety valve on disc brake cars after that date.
Amazing how an unchallenged lie can become the absolute truth.

Correct. I think that is what the diagram was showing.

Is there any difference if the car has disc front and rear drum?

It is my understanding that the metering valve is used to restrict front line pressure in disc/drum cars to allow the rear drums to overcome the return springs before the front calipers start to clamp down. In this manner, the brakes are used evenly and wear evenly, otherwise the caliper pads might wear much faster.
Where can I get a metering valve?
I have a 66 Dart with a Ford 8" rear (Ford 10" drums) and I have 75 Dart front disc brakes. I am using the 75 Dart proportiong valve/loss indicator, but I have no metereing valve.
Do A bodies even need it, or is it only used in heavier cars?

I wonder if the A bodies even had metereing valves, because looking at those pics it seems like one of the two ports for the front calipers on the prop. valve is plugged, one line goes to the metering valve which tees them to the front calipers.
My 75 Dart proportioning valve did not have a plug in either one of the front caliper ports, so I just connected them directly to the front calipers as was recommended to me. The brakes work great BTW, at least compared to the old 4 wheel 9" drums!
I'm confused now as to whether I'd even need a metering valve.
