The turn signals on my '73 Duster stopped working. The tail light bulbs are good so that is not the problem. I have tail lights and brake lights. Can anyone tell me where the flasher is located? I'd like to replace it and see if that does the trick.

Thanks,

Raul

check turn signal fuse & When you find the flasher jump across the 2 teminals in it's connector(w ign sw on) & move turn signal stalk up/down

Thanks for the replies. I checked the fuses and all are good. I tried the turn signals again. They do flash but it takes about 4-5 seconds between flashes. It is the same for both sides. Does this indicate the flasher is bad?

On my dart the flasher is up under the dash and it's looks like a pie (best way I can explain it). It's on a plug by its self. Had the same problem and thought it was the flasher but it was the turn signal switch. Remove the steering wheel and it's in there. Kind of a PITA to replace though.

It's cheap and easy to replace if that is the problem.

As mentioned, it could be a worn turn signal switch (TSS), too.

If a new flasher doesn't help, it may be a short to ground in the flasher circuit. Even a minor short takes voltage away from the flasher, which causes it to warm up more slowly, and results in slow flashes. Just my 2 cents.
