For the racers around Maryland it looks like 75-80 Dragway will be reopening. From post I've seen on facebook the track has been sold as of June 2021. The new owners are leasing it out to someone who is working to clean up the track and are hoping to have it open mid July 2021. Sounds like they are going to be doing no prep/grudge racing to start and possible index racing. No bracket racing at this point. I'm assuming maybe because they need a timing systems as the track has sat dormant for many years. That is good news. Have you heard anything about Capitol? There was a rumor.

The problem with 75/80 was water. That part of the county is on well and septic. From what I heard the developers wanted the county to pay to bring water and sewer to that area. County said no.
Capitol was just a rumor from what a friend told me. They were never going to reopen. The work that was going on there like fixing up the tower was for a different reason than reopening the track. Capitol has a few issues that will make it hard to reopen
I hope 75/80 reopens and this is just not another rumor. I live 20 min away. I hope so. That will take some pressure off Mason Dixon.

Six Pack, If you think you could do better you should have purchased 75-80 we saved South Mountain from being another housing development. We are not perfect but at least we are still racing. Do me a favor don't ever step foot on my property again. Mountain Mike PS All you are is a complainer instead of helping. I always listen to what folks say and do our best to improve so like I said you are not welcome.

Are there enough racers in the area to fill 75-80 and Mason Dixon. the last owner was terrible. It'd be a nice day and he wouldn't open, once he said the power was out when all the lights were on and the air pump worked. 75&80 was PACKED every Friday and Sat night, not just the pits but the stands. M/D is the worst track around. painfully slow to get runs in, Sunday's don't start until afternoon and they try and have everybody gone by 7pm. You get 2 time runs before Elim's. Capitol is the fastest and best operated track. I'm hoping 75/80 reconsiders bracket racing, That is what the majority want. Not everybody wants to play "Street Outlaws".

I'm assuming you mean last owner of 75-80? The last people that opened it actualy just leased it from the original owners that operated it for 50 years or whatever it was. I didn't go there when they had it opened but heard it was a real circus.. Mason is one of the smoothest operating tracks around as far as getting cars down the track. They don't start til noon or there about on Sunday because there is a church at the end of the track. Last year they started doing only 1 time run and than straight into Eliminations. I know some of the test and tune days it can take awhile to get a run because of the amount of cars. As I've gotten older I really dislike the races that attract the guys that go out once or twice a year. They always seem to slow the show down, slow at pulling of the the lanes, putz around the pits and just do stupid stuff that annoys me.
