I need to replace the water pump on my 73 Charger Rallye. It's a 340 no ac car. I would like to upgrage to a 8 vane water pump.
I do not want a part made in China. So far I have come across Milodon made in Japan.
Anyone tried GMB water pump? I'm trying to find out where these are made.
Any recommendation from the group?

I run the FlowKooler (FK1700) on my 340. It uses the GMB casting and FlowKooler adds their own parts.

I sadly had to give up on the Mopar pumps and really like the Milodon with anti cavitation plate. Have not had any problems.

The Milodon in my shelf is a GMB, at least main body casting.

Thank you for all the great feedback. I ordered the Milodon high flow pump and matching thermostat.
Summit Racing had this on the shelf and shipped right away.

One of my reps represents about 70 different manufacturers. We had this conversation about 3 weeks ago - I asked him who makes the BEST water pumps? GMB hands-down was his answer. I had installed a rebuilt water pump on a 73 Charger Rallye 340 air car probably 15 years ago. It started leaking pretty badly at the Mopar Nats around 2005 & we were able to limp it back home to Michigan with stop-leak being added a few times. After getting back, I was driving it to a buddy's where we were going to install another GOOD NEW one, & it seized-up. When that happened, it shut the motor down. Had to cut the fan belt off to start it again. The rebuilt one didn't even have 2,000 miles on it. When replacing something basic like a water pump, use the best one money can buy - the best is even inexpensive.
