Pictures added. My plan from the outset was 'Nice driver to local events, dependable cruiser to long distance events, rebuilt mainly to as listed fender tag codes.' To that end there will be fresh wiring harnesses, restored gauges, rebuilt mechanicals, ss lines, etc. as my budget allows. Upgrades include going from 14" to 15" wheels and tires, polyurethane suspension pieces, frame connectors, and a modern head unit for sound. The process began in earnest November, 2007.
A little history; if anyone remebers this Challenger, please pm me with details. It sold new from Hunter (now Oakland) Dodge on W. 14 Mile in Madison Heights, Michigan to Arnold R. Zorn according to the Chrysler Corporation Warranty; a vehicle insurance id from the early eighties still listing the original owner's name was also found. The car was picked up as an abandoned vehicle by the Royal Oak Police Department March 1993. I bought the car January 1994 from the fellow who had won it at a subsequent Police Auction.
By the time i had purchased the Challenger, the motor and trans had been replaced with 1971 and 1969 units respectively which have since been rebuilt. She'll never be an original drivetrain car but she'll do ok.
