Somehow my machine-thing failed to record the last episode.

So was seller losing money at $4.8 Mil ? or just not making the money he wanted?

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Tom doesn't really care if he sells it. I was there at Russo-Steele around 2010 when he sold the 70 Hemicuda white/red interior convertible for $2mil and he decided to lift the reserve for the hell of it. He sold one of the three cars he brought, probably just needed a little room... laugh2

I feel like the fun of the muscle car is completely gone when it's at this kind of money. Count me out even if I could afford it. What would be the point of owning it? Investment? I seriously doubt it. Enjoy driving? Who could enjoy driving it at this money?!

No thanks. Insanity is right.

What irks me: With many high-end Mopars, a lot of the people aren’t even Mopar people. Basically, they’re collecting artwork & making investments.

Exactly and driving up prices and keeping the cars out of the hands of Mopar lovers!

Not an argument here with this statement, but this all started what, around 2005? Sooo many people still pissed off! 4 or 5 million for a single car is a TON OF MONEY. BUT- anyone that thinks thats a lot of coin, just peek your head in the room of vintage European race cars.
Adam Corolla put it best when he said, " to millionaire enthusiasts, a 30 million dollar car that gets damaged will immediately have a several million dollar repair done the following day. Money is no object to them".

Tom Lembeck bought his first cuda in the 80s, and does drive his cars. There’s at least one video on YouTube of him driving this hemi cuda on Chicago streets, which is more daring than anything I’d do with any of my E bodies! thumbs

Why should that irk you.
Of course people who are going to buy such cars didnt( for the most part) get in such a position as to be able to afford them by not being astute, and investing wisely.
I could care less who buys them, as long as they are taken care of.

What amazes me - more than the big money playground for the rare & iconic Mopars - is the money paid for GTOs & Chevelles.& Novas.
There's thousands of them out there, yet they change hands at prices well above the Mopar muscle that's not only rarer, but ate their lunch & took their money back in the day.
Guess it's like today's pop music, where the marketing sells the mediocrity...

I don't know how many guys here would pop for a HemiCuda if they were only $250,000, but there's a halo effect that's driven the restoration parts availability we didn't have 30 years ago.
Also, it seems most anything of intrinsic value is about 8X the money it was in the '80s - cars, property, art, etc etc.
Except salaries, unfortunately...

Except salaries for the average blue collar worker that is. Most, if not all CEO's are doing just fine financially. Average salary is over $22 million...Just ask Bezos/Musk/McMillon/ they'll tell ya eyes
