I use an air ratchet and a wrench, car up on jackstands and rear end hanging down by the leaf springs. Some shocks may be shorter than needed and will prevent the rear end from sagging all the way down. Using a floor jack to relieve that tension helps for removal and install. I also use synthetic disc brake grease on the bushings when reinstalling the shocks.

Be careful with snapping the shock mount studs. Penetrating oil and multiple heat cycles are helpful. Learned the hard way.... Recently was doing the brakes on sons car. I could NOT get the rear disks off. Went to auto parts store and bought PB Blaster. That shi# is like magic!!!

General rule of thumb on these car. Spray every threaded fastener with PBBlaster the day BEFORE you plan to work on it.
