Yes, happens to me all the time... well, mostly when it's cold and/or wet out. and it only happens when I'm driving my Buick... I'm 99.999% sure it's the switch, since it mostly happens when I hit the turn signals or cruise or a really big bump... I would guess probably the same for you...

I'm not sure but there may be a tension spring clip on the back of the knob.
Slip something thin between the knob and the dash, apply some tension by prying toward the knob and see if it slides off.

There is a small allen screw on the bottom of the knob.Look closer.
