Hello , I was reading December '08 Mopar Collectors' Guide article on the Yellow 1970 Challenger T/A found in New York in the rafters of an auto repair shop. (A MUST read if you haven't read it yet.) It was restored by a gentleman named Dave Lovely who , the article states, is in California and is the "End-all Challenger restoration specialist". Does anyone know how to contact or has had contact with him? I'm located in California's Central Valley and would like to talk with him regarding possible restoration of my car. Been looking for a good shop , not too far away Thank You for any help Kevin.

Be sure to take anything MCG says with a grain of salt. I don't believe I've ever seen his name mentioned on Moparts. If he's as good as the article purports, someone will chime in.

If it's the Dave I'm thinking it is he does some very high end cars.. Use to do all of Bill Jurivich's cars... I don't know that he's as good as MCG puffs him up to be but he builds a well detailed car... Pete's Resto is another option... With either one you better know it's not gonna be cheap so the car had better be worth it...

An average, full restoration in a top notch, high end shop usually runs around 100K. That's where absolutely everything is restored including mechanicals. They may quote you less in the beginning, but you can be assured that the end cost of most resto's usually end up much higher than originally quoted.

Dave's about an hour away. One car at a time and thorough. I was told he has a list and he does incredible work. Near Redding, but I don't have any contact info.

If I didn't know better I would say that's my friends '70 6 bbl Cuda, he's up in the Redding area also. Sure looks like it's going to sweet when it's done.
