We had a sheriff's department 2019 caravan in the shop back end of feburary into March. It got rear ended pretty hard. Set both headrests off. I have had them on order since March. From what the dealership is telling me is that Chrysler will only allow 1 headrest order every 21 days and that they are on back order. Googled the headrest and found a class action lawsuit https://www.classaction.org/news/cl...ed-with-defective-active-head-restraints So curious if anyone on here had been able to buy them or having the same issues. My thinking is that if a class action lawsuit is in play and chrysler is aware there is an issue with these headrests. Are they getting things in play for a potential big recall and getting the supply filled up? Curious on others view points.

Can you use used parts? Seat assemblies are $100 to $250 on Car Parts. www.car-part.com

Insurance job so they will not allow it on these parts like a fender or sheet metal part.

Insurance will pay for new, but if the sheriff's dept. wants the thing fixed and back on the road, that's between you and them when it comes to putting used headrests in the van. The insurance company owes what they owe. What the vehicle owner chooses to do is up to the vehicle owner.
