Thanks to IMGTX and other posters, I've learned that the 1967-1971 426 Hemi Auto transmissions have a different dipstick that all other 727s. Can someone give me the length from the staked spot under the grommet/seal down to the tip and from the staked spot to the fill and full lines? I think I have a 440 dipstick and want to be sure i have the correct amount of fluid in my trans.

Hemi automatic transmission dip sticks are by themselves as far as I know. The tube is short and the mounting tab is secured to the stud for the heat tube. The dip stick is a two piece unit riveted together and from the bottom of the rubber seal is about 16 inches.

BiggE - Mine is 2 piece riveted together but the part number is 4202951 followed by the letter M. I understand that this number is for a 383-440 727. Is a Hemi stick a cut and modified 440 stick?

I don't really know what dip stick they modified for the hemi. Mine doesn't have a part number on it. The digits are different looking than most for 1970. I'd assume they used an earlier dip stick to modify.

BiggE - Mine is just under 16 inches long. About ther same as yours. Can you send me a picture of the bottom of the stick against a ruler like the one I attached? I can use yours to index mine to be sure the FULL and ADD lines are the same.

Interesting so the hemi stick is rivet. Seems like you could make one easy enough.

As far as i know the 4202951 is a later part number and i would not think it was original to that car or other cars around those years.
