step dome piston , like a KB , but what KB has will not get you that compression ratio easily once you equalize the chambetrs , it's going to take a CUSTOM piston , I'm having them made for a build I'm doing using 452's..

just currious how high can you get the compression with out decking the block.

the kb184 will get you very close to 9.5. i have two engines with kb184's. one has 9.4:1 and the other 9.3:1 (these were checked by cc'ing heads and checking downfill). '452 heads usually have one deep chamber. after equalizing and milling 9.5:1 shouldn't be difficult to reach.

an hp piston could be anywhere from 9.5 to 10.5 with 88cc heads and steel shim gasket. measure the deck heigth and do some math. there are some piston variables.

That piston won't work for me , I had 2 deep chambers , to use that piston I'd have to cut about .060 off the heads using a steel shim gasket and still end up with the major part of the piston .090 in the hole, with a large valve relief which really isn't needed .
