hi, newb here i have a 74 satellite sebring plus with a 318 that appears to have a stock 4 bbl manifold and a stock 4bbl carb. the carb is junk and i want to replace it. i think there is an egr valve also. what would be a good replacement carb? a edelbrock 600 cmf ? and can i use the stock manifold? or do i need to go with a after market one? also can i get rid of the egr valve? any help is greatly welcomed.

to the best of my knowledge the lowest thermoquad cfm rating was 750. actually with most motors it seems that you would need a smaller holley or edelbrock carb for some reason. the 600 edelbrock seems like it should be fine. except i found out that 600 on my 318 was too much carb for it until it got to the high rpms. on holleys website they have a carb calculator that said my engine needs a 390-570 cfm carb. do you have any mods on the engine?

a 650cfm Holley w/ vacuum secondaries. You can always lean it out, but it leaves room for engine upgrades
