To my dismay, I just discovered that the classic Carter mechanical fuel pump #M6903 (HEMI pump) has been discontinued. It looks like they have replaced it with the #M5903P which appears to be the same pump, but a polished housing. This for much more money than the now discontinued #M6903 in natural satin finish. Looks like it’s been this way for a while.

Could this be Federal Mogul consolidating some its product lines in order to be more profitable?

At any rate, this is not good news to the restoration crowd or those who don’t care for polished items under their hood.

The restoration crowd will survive. If they can find date-coded windshield washer fluid they'll find fuel pumps, too.

And it'll give them one more 'tough part' to brag about, which is probably the main goal of some of those guys...

Parts I seek: driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set 16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better. 69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields Send a PM.
