The transmission was leaking pretty badly in my 68 Fury wagon so I pulled it out to rebuild it. I found the pump drive snout is worn to the point I think I need a new one. So, which one? The choice is complicated by my modifications. The car has a bone stock 383 except, an Edelbrock Street Master intake, Holley Sniper fuel injection and a turbocharger. I wanna hit the dragstrip a time or two but its mostly just for street driving. A stock rebuilt unit? A slightly higher stall? I'm a four speed guy so I'm lost here. It probably weighs 4300 pounds and has 2.94 gears.

What say you fellers?

If the converter worked you can have the snout replaced....

As far as what you need, that might be best left to the professionals..... especially with your somewhat “odd” combo.

3,000 to 3,500 stall speed for the track but I'd go with a 2500 for that car on the street.

I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!

It definitely is odd! It looks like a new snout has already been welded on so I think a replacement is a good idea.

Talk to ultimate or ptc. Converter technology has come a very long way from high stall means horrible street manners. Converter can make or break a combo. Especially outside the box ones.
