I am planning on a disc conversion a little later on but I need to replace my master cylinder(M/C) now. I have a '68 Satellite with power drums. I would like to go ahead and upgrade the M/C to a disc brake M/C. Can I do this? is the lack of a residual valve in the front brake circuit going to cause me trouble? has anyone done this before? also, is it possible to remove the residual value from the M/C I have now and install it in the new M/C?

Thanks

DC

You need to use a disk master cylinder with disk brakes and a drum master cylinder with drum brakes. You might want to speed up your disk brake conversion as a result. Visit your local wrecking yard and find some M-bodies and you'll have almost all the parts you need.
