I did the initial mock up on the 541 today. I foresee grinding in my future but it's not as bad as I expected.


The oil pick up boss is the only point of contact but that might change with less than .030" between the rod bolts and bottom of the cylinders. They're gonna be cozy with some heat and RPM. Gotta dust a bit off the bores.

neat way you have the pick up tube adapter mounted zippy. how much did you have to move it ? did you just slot the mounting holes then move the adapter over for clearance, or did you plug the original holes, move the required clearance amount, then re-drill and tap new holes ?

feets, how much clearance do you have between the crank throw and the piston skirt ?

It's an aftermarket block and comes that way.
I stopped at this point, I didn't care much for any of the mods required to make the internal pickup work so I went external.

It's a 4.5" stroke with 2.2" journals.

You could just slap it together and fire it up. It will self-clearance fairly quickly! no
