Picked up another Hemi and was thinking it was probably in a 66 car ? My question is did all blocks have stampings on the lower ear? This block is blank there other then Maltese cross .This is a 65 block with matching 65 heads , B was 66 correct? Thanks

What is that top row? I never have seen that before? Maybe a rebuilders mark?

That is what I'd guess. Some rebuild shop stamped the block with the date they built the engine. Looks like it was in 1985 so back before people cared much about numbers matching. My buddy parted out a Hemi car back in the 80's because it wasn't worth fixing then. So no surprise that a shop would stamp a Hemi block like that.

What are you doing with the block? What’s the casting date on the side?

It’s a pretty complete engine, heads are matching 65 also , not really sure what I am doing with it . I bought a 78 Ramcharger out of California I was thinking about putting in that for a wile. Looks like 8/16 or 18 of 65 is casting date

1965 Hemi engines has Aluminum heads and thin balancers. This is the casting date of my 1965 Hemi Block that was placed between the frame rails of a 1965 B Body. Not all 1965 Cast block went into 1965 car. Look at the top pad on what I am posting and that tells you this is a 1965 High Compression Hemi Block.
