Hello, I have a rear seat question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere and hoped someone here could help. Is there a difference in the shape of the rear seat bottom from sedan to hardtop on the 66-67 B bodies? To the naked eye, my 67 Belvedere II and 66 Coronet Deluxe look the same. I need new upholstery for the Coronet seats which were originally vinyl/cloth and three times the cost of a two tone vinyl like what's in my Belvedere. I was hoping to basically order Belvedere II covers in the correct colors for my Coronet Deluxe and save $1200.00. I just want to make sure to have good information before I order something that's non returnable if it doesn't fit. Thank you very much for any and all help.

I have a 1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe 2 door sedan that had horrible interior in it, HORRIBLE!
I took it to a local upholstery shop and had them do the seats, headliner and carpet and later the door panels after having a friend make duplicates backboards off of the originals from the car.
I think it was cheaper than buying a interior kit from Legendary, Classic, or any one else I could buy them from up
Look around and see what you can find back there twocents

Hi, thank you for the reply. The horrible interior seat upholstery (front and rear) from Legendary is going to be $1900.00 but then I see their Coronet 500 and Belvedere II (both hardtop cars obviously) sets for $750.00. To me the $750.00 is pretty reasonable, but Legendary tells me that the rear seat bottom is different from hardtop to post car. Like I said just looking at them both I don't see anything different, but I fear there's some slight difference in the frames and if I order a set of the less expensive but nicer looking upholstery that it won't fit. I did consider the upholstery shop option, and the only reputable shop I was able to find was a couple of hours away and didn't want to talk to me unless I drove in with the seats. Thank you again!

With all the '67 B-bodies I have, none of them are sedans. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

I’m interested in why so much difference, I would think only the door panels would be different. Maybe it’s the seat back that’s different not the bottom

You could be right cudaman, I guess I was fixated on the bottom since they vary between two and four doors. Thanks for your reply and letting me know I may have been overlooking that.

When I said horrible that car had sat in a local two yard for over 27 yrs with the windows down before I bought it to fix up, all of the interior was torn up and rotten, horribly puke
Nothing except the frame and springs where reusable whiney shruggy
The guy who did my car was a one man operation working out of his shop at his home and he did a good job at what I considered a reasonable price, I had to take the car to him before he would quote me a price and time frame of course up It is really hard to do a accurate estimate without seeing the work needing to be done, huh shruggy
That was over three years ago and I still don't have a smart phone to take and send pictures like a lot of people have today

Oh ok I misunderstood you as I thought you were referring to the cloth/vinyl pattern as horrible. I guess I figured if Legendary or some other manufacturer of seat covers could give an exact price of how much they would cost and sell them to me online or over the phone that someone else would be able to give an estimate or ballpark range based on pictures. At this point if I can't determine the rear seat issue I will just go ahead and spend the money for the original covers. Thanks again!

2-door and 4-door bottoms are generally different, 4-doors being more rounded at the front corners.
I don't recall a difference in 68-70 2-door seat back shapes (sedan/coupe/HT), but that's not what you have.
Since you're not concerned with absolute correctness (Belvedere covers in Coronet), your options include aftermarket stuff that may be decent & close enough.
Probably less expensive too, which appears to be a concern, unless you're installing yourself.

Well it looks like cudaman was onto something. I was fixated on the seat bottom being different, but it is indeed the seat back that is different as he suggested. I just pulled the rear seats out of both cars and took some measurements. The back of the post car seat is about 1 1/2" - 2" taller than the hardtop one, but the width is identical between the two. I wasn't really crazy about the original fabric pattern since it was a lot more expensive than others I liked better, but I just went ahead and ordered it anyways. Thank you to everyone for your help!

Satellite / GTX seats have a notch in the top of the rear seat .
