okay guys, I need your help here... I have a distributor I want to use for my 383 67 date coded block..I also have a 68 block I might want to use it on...here's my question...the part number is 2875 162 16 8 . I can't find this part number in any of my restoration guides or online.. also there is a big #67 above the small numbers below...I know some numbers are different for two and four barrel applications, the 2875 number is fairly standard across the board, I just can't figure out what all the other numbers mean...would appreciate some info...thanks..

It's from a '68 car or truck with a 383-2 and auto trans. This number supersedes 2875354. The 16 8 is probably the build date, 16th week of 1968.

thanks...after doing more checking I found out that the 16 8 was indeed the fourth month of 1968...I assume that even though the number was for a 2 barrel. it will work for a 4 barrel as well...it's just a single point point distributor..should be okay ?

The service manual should give the specs of both distributors, if they are different. But yes, it will work for a 4bbl, might not be optimal but any distributor can be tuned.
