What do most folks use when they run the "gasser look"? Can you find the front axales from early trucks or are they made by some company?

check out speedway motors for 4 pages of axels

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/street-rod...first_answer=17

if your talking about putting an axel under something like a 66 dart or a 64-75 B body mopar many people used the A100 axel and springs, they have to be narrowed to fit under a dart.

or are you talking about an older car like a streetrod?
I would go with one from speedway if you are doing a older car or truck. Ron....

What kind of car?

Lots of "gassers" ran stock front suspensions with ball joint spacers or something similar.

Gasser does not always mean "solid front axle".

The "High and Mighty", although technically an Altered, is a great example of stock front suspension being retained with spacers for height.

However, if you're determined to put an axle in it, I like getting the whole assembly out of A100s or Ford Econoline vans, typically better brakes in 60's era stuff. The 50's pickup trucks are another option.

The Speedway stuff is nice, but can get expensive real quick when you figure you need to buy spindles, brakes, steering linkage, etc to go along with that axle.

Just an FYI though, a solid front axle'd car will handle like a stock 50's pick up truck. Going to cross steering will help the bump steer, but its still going to drive like an old truck.
