Basically a stroked 3.5L, owned 2 different Nitros with them. Never had an issue and they run pretty strong.

So the 4.0 that I believe ended in '06 was not the 4.0 purchased along with AMC? The straight 6 that was bullet proof?

I can't say I understand why they were producing the 3.5 and the 4.0 simultaneously.

cuz Chevy was building both a 3.5 and a 3.9 simultaneously, about the same time. Competition, keep up with teh Joneses, etc It would seem to be in order to keep up the the Jones you keep your costs down.

Well since they are on their 3rd merger in 20 years I don't think they were all that good at business
