I have a 426 hemi engine and I am trying to install a new dipstick with the motor in the car and all exaust manifolds in place. Am I missing something. The end of the dipstick is approximately 1" long and I can't get it to seat in. Does anyone have a trick to get this installed. I have tried freezing the dipstick to get it smaller. No luck. Thanks for any advise you can give me.

Grind a small champher to get it started. Take a crowsfoot that fits the tube and with long 3/8 drive extensions you should be able to set it in place.
