I have a driveshaft out of a 70s dodge truck(no slip yoke)
I want to cut down to fit 70 cuda. 8 3/4 727 trans
I know measurements are from center of cap to center of cap. Just don't know what they should be
Thanks in advance

With a small block the shaft would be: 47.95" long
With a 383-4, 426 and 440 the shaft would be 43.60" long

I beg to differ, if 727, all the same length.
Now 904 IS different.

take the shaft & butt it all the way in the trans then measure the C to C then subtract 3/4". that is your #. there are too many variables to go by a set # especially since you are having the shaft cut you might as well get it dead on perfect. have the rear end/springs loaded.

Is This measurement from center of cap to center of cap?

Fortunately I just happen to have the driveshaft for my Bblk /727/8 3/4 1970 Cuda out, the measurement is: center to center on the U joint caps 43.625 inches/ 43 5/8 inches

As mentioned earlier in this thread, it'll be the same measurement for any 727 TF equipped 8 3/4 Cuda smblk or Bblk
