I have my name on a World aluminum block, and may buy new pistons to best match the combo. I talked to Ross pistons today and got some ideas. For sure what i want is .043 , .043, 3mm low tension rings, gas ports and skirt coatings. Ed at Ross suggested .200 wall pins from tool steel. This will be the same configuration, 550 cubes, 15/1 compression. What piston brands are good, and any options i should consider?

I like the last 10 or so sets of Ross pistons I’ve seen. They are at least as good as anything else, and better than a bunch of stuff.
Before I picked a ring pack, I’d call Total Seal and ask THEM what they think you should run for rings. IMO, and .043/.043 ring pack is a bit thick, even on a bracket engine. I’d let them pick the ring pack and rings.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I would call Diamond and have a convo with Ron--He's a Mopar guy and has good advice and experience. Or I see Mahle Motorsports now has a Custom department which I am looking forward to using. J.Rob

You might consider Gibtec in Denver. They are part of V Gaines' Western Motorsports group in Denver. The group includes Winberg Cranks, GRP Rods, etc.
You also might want to consider Total Seals "gas ported rings". Dyno tests show they can make more power than gas ports.

I'd talk with Todd. You are already getting the block from him. He won't steer you wrong. He is doing my KB wedge and going with Diamond pistons on my build. I have heard that many of the piston suppliers are way behind due to the shut down.
Ok

Greg, I used Diamond pistons and they have a dome shaped to match the Indy 440-1 heads which might help in a high compression build... Work good for me!

A household name at one of the big engine parts companies told me that Ross makes a lot of pistons for some of the other piston companies, he made me promise not to say he said it. LOL...glad you can keep a secret!!!!!

Let's see a picture of the "best in the business" slipper style piston, then I'll show you mine. OMG, another mine is better than yours I've used a bunch of different piston makers in my long engine building and racing career, some where not as good as others but I know now to you buy a custom race piston for a race motor and not to buy a expensive race piston for a street and strip motor I placed a order for a set of Probe shelf pistons for a pump gas RB motor with the Summit several years back, Summit racing side told me they would be drop shipped directly to me in 3 to 6 weeks. 10 months later I called Probe and ended up talking to another holding company who had bought them out along with several other SO CA piston companies, I got them several weeks later and they where made by Auto Tec I've had really good luck with Icon on pump gas street motors Quality product at a reasonable price

I prefer CP personally, but have a relationship there too. I have used Diamond and Ross in the past. Use Rebco for some stuff, usually changes or further profiling made after manufacture. Yes even with molds or digitized chambers sometimes stuff changes slightly and needs addressed. But we are talking ultra high compression stuff. Been to the Gibtec facility and it is very nice and they do a fair number of billets for Pro Stock and Pro Stock bike.
