I know ... it’s THE COST of buying a car like this ... BUT is their a REASON ?

I’ve heard that some place in New Yack charges as much as 190$ for an oil and filter change. eek

Manufacturers & their warranties: simple as that. "if you don't do an oil change EXACTLY as documented, your warranty may be void".
Sell "hot rod" cars, knowing "some" will abuse them & you have the "Cover Your A...." policy.

Yeah, it's costly. $100 oil change at the dealer for my HC. I can do it for half that and will be since my warranty expired. Lots of owners on Hellcat.org do their own and document it. So however you want to fight it if things go south. twocents

Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Act.

The manufacturer can’t void your warranty for just any reason. It has to be called out in the written warranty document.
Perform the oil change and keep records and you will be fine.
You don’t even have to use Mopar products during those maintenance events.

Do a search here. This was just discussed not too long back and there were some alternatives posted.

Not only oil, these cars are a problem waiting to happen. I’m on my third ABS sensor, info screen continuously wants to update something and I think the trans is acting up too, at only 19,000 miles for a 2015. I drive in fear every time I take it out of the garage of what’s going to go wrong today

honda got into a deal [many] moons ago by voiding warrentees of owners that did not use "honda oil" when they changed their oil, even with documentation.
the courts struck down the "honda oil" requirement. as long as you use a qualified oil and filter, plus changing it at the required intervals, you will be good. [quit being so ChEaP DoC ! whistling]

I never knew anyone was quoting that much! But then everything in NY is more expensive. Synthetics are more expensive, that's one reason, and the capacity is higher than the old days of the 5 quarts sumps, but other than that, I don't see why.

When I had my '06 SRT8 Charger, I found it quite easy to do myself. I did have to get a lower profile floor jack, but that was it. The filter was very accessible as was the plug. I just kept the filter/oil receipt in my file for warranty purposes, but never needed it. You have a good car with a strong reliable engine.

Can you change it yourself? Save a lot of money and know it's done right.

100% correct. I can't tell you how many times I had to bust out a copy of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act at work, and stuff it in the faces of service advisors and service managers who would attempt to deny warranty service because a vehicle had been in a previous accident. Worked like a charm.

I've been paying attention to quite a few of your posts here as of lately. You really need to stop being so concerned about the minutiae of the car. Enjoy it. Go to advance auto or auto zone or whatever. Buy good oil and their decent filter. You're gonna be OK. As far as what the other individual said about these cars being a ticking bomb and having low miles on a 2015, wake up man. If your car is under warranty, use it if your nervous. Otherwise enjoy it! I have a '14 srt with over 100k, still rips, love it. I do t use the Mopar branded stuff. You guys are thinking way too hard about small stuff.

Just get yourself a K&N filter (rated good in big study) and some Amsoil (always rated well) and change it yourself. C'mon, are YOU a geezer and can't change your oil and filter?
