Swapping out my 340 in my duster for a 2012 5.7 hemi. Going to be locking the VVT and removing the MDS on it. Holley Terminator EFI as well. Looking for something higher end to match with my 3000 stall i already have for the 518. I see comp has their newer HTR cams but i was looking to see what else is out there that im missing for the VVT style cams.

73 Duster 340 a518 6pack

6.4 SRT8 cam works great for that

I have a 2012 Ram 4x4 with the 5.7 and MDS. It's had a lifter tick for about 80,000 miles now. I know it's only a matter of time. It has 221,000 miles on it. Will the 6.4 cam conversion have any negative aspects for me pulling a trailer under 10,000 lbs? What about fuel mileage?

I put the 6.4 SRT MDS cam in my sons 5.7 charger.and noticed a big difference in power. The car has not been tuned yet but it runs good without a tune.It sounds great at idle and "feels" stronger in the lower RPM and higher RPM range. Basically it feels stronger across the board. I plan on tuning it in a few weeks he has been driving it for a couple months now and no issues. I posted in this area about the springs and stuff I used. I wouldn't spend the money on a comp cam the 6.4 cam works great.

If your doing towing very much I would get the BGE 6.4 cam. I did an SRT8 cam in 09 2500 4x4 4 door 5.7 with a big tool box (very heavy truck) and it pulled like a beast but did lack just a tiny bit real low from the 5.7 cam, never had it tuned, that may cover up any loss of low end.

I have a BGE can with 10 miles on it if you want to go that route cheap.
