Well, for first time in YEARS, I decided to take a walk thru the local pick a part yard . . . sad to say, there was only about 6-8 rows (why are they always furthest back in the yard ?) of 8-9 mopar vehicles. Pretty much 2002 and up . . . found ONE "old" car - 1980 Aspen RT . . . sorta surprised to see it there. 2door, 318 2bbl, console auto, buckets . . . decided to go back with my tools and pull off a few pieces that are kinda generic for 80 . . . then decided to grab the console, shifter & linkage, and then cut out the floor section of the tranny tunnel with the console brackets . . . . still more parts on that car, don't need them, but seems a shame to let them sit there - buckets are still there, course they need foam and to be recovered. But they are all there . . .
Anyway, it just made me feel "old", between seeming to take more time/effort than I figured it would to get everything, and the lack of any cars I still think of as new. . . well, just sign of the times !
How are the local yards in your area(s) ???

All the yards in town are mostly 90's and up. They only have so much space so they have to crush vehicles at some point. If they do get an old car it gets picked clean pretty fast. The yards out of town have lots of land and that is where the old cars are at. This place is huge. Nobody can possibly walk thru it all in a day. https://youtu.be/mG5GAPmvVhohttps://youtu.be/W-MbeEyc7AU

Pick and pull yards are one of my guilty pleasures. But I am looking for OBVIOUS brand new parts of decent quality. I google the part number and pass if t is an ebay $35 new alternator for example. Starters alternators struts brakes. You'd be surprised how many times an owner has repairs done on their older car and then for whatever reason that car ends up in the yard. Love those Weather Tech trunk liners.
Keep old mopars alive.
