3735@110mph says you have around 410fwhp according to my calcs, with 26" tyres you should've been trapping@around 5900rpm. a 28" stiff wall bias slick would bring that down to around 5500 in the traps. I would not go to a radial tyre with a stick. Hope you've got some better parts in that axle than all stock if your really at launching it hard... Bolstering the statement made above If your not or don't want to modify the quarters make sure you have Good wheel studs and Axles...otherwise the tire/wheels may do it for you

Thanks, Matt Don't fear the radials, install a 'tamer on that clutch and you will be able to get dead-hooking no-bog launches that hit your 8-3/4 softer than an automatic. Grant

It depends on the B body as to what size tire you can fit without cutting anything. 275/60/15's fit on almost all of them if I remember right.
There are fast guys running manual transmissions with radial tires but it requires more suspension tuning, clutch management (including clutch tamers) and fiddling than you may be willing to deal with. Bias ply slicks are more forgiving but if you've never driven a car with them before you need to be aware how they feel while driving, and it also will feel odd if you mismatch radials up front and bias plys in the rear.
If you dump the clutch on your 8 3/4 with slicks, it is going to eventually break. Slip the clutch on launches and you should be okay until you upgrade to a 9" or Dana. I broke pinions, u joints, axle shafts... you name it. You'll even break it with a somewhat sticky radial tire.

Hoosier and M/T do slicks in 26x8 & 26x8.5. You are limited if you don't want to massage the wheel openings.
I would be hesitant to put a radial on it without do any other changes. A stock 8.75 is going to be short lived. Some sort of adjustment is needed in the bellhousing. A bias tire would be a better choice if you don't want to go there. Again, the 8.75 and the driveshaft need some attention or upgrades.
Talk to stick shift stocker guys. Plenty of good Mopar stockers in the midwest.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
