I need new brakes for my 58 Belvedere but not having any luck finding any. I can find 59 and up. Are they different? Anyone have a source for new brake shoes for a 58 Belvedere? Brakes for these early B bodies suck for parts/setting up....your best bet is to do the scarebird front disc swap, swap out the tapered axle/pressed drum rear for a bolt in 8 3/4 E body axle, if you want power brakes the 70 up A body 8/9 inch diaphram booster, disc/drum master and offset bracket from Pirate Jack is the way to go, I'm currently doing this on my Daughter's 61 Belvedere Mike

https://www.oldmoparts.com/parts-service-brakes.aspxOr have your old ones relined, plenty of those services listed in the internet, I have no experience with any of them though. Some of those disc brake kits are poorly thought out, any that require heating and bending of steering arms are on my nope list as are any that use an aluminum hub. You 58's front suspension is completely different than my 51's so my solution will not directly apply, which is to use OEM stuff to convert to discs using my own mounting bracket design. Still in development right now, waiting till100+ degree days aren't in the forecast. One other thing to think about, years ago I put discs on my 64 300. Essentially, I measured things out, went to the boneyard and found a later Mopar disc setup that would work, spindle and all. In my case the late B/F/M/J/R spindle was the same height and could be made to work if I used the newer steering arm and trimmed the tierod assembly from the 64, but that was back it the 90's and the details are fuzzy anymore. A later dual reservoir 4 bolt master cylinder and the prop valve form the brake donor were used as well. I want to say I used a 79 Cordoba as the donor for everything but the master cylinder and the hard lines.

Looked on Google, a site called moparmall.com has shoes and the hydraulics. Another path would be to check with the guys at forwardlook.com.
IIRC - been 20 years since my last '58 - they used a double-leading-shoe design. Buddy who was a Mopar tech back then had special tools for setting them up. I'm not even sure what that means, both shoes the same length? I have a tool to set them up, as in measures the inside diameter of the drum and then the outside diameter of the shoes to get it close. Beyond that I have never seen a setup like on this car before. I did check Moparmall and they do have relined shoes

Both 58 and 59 use the same shoes, I own both years. You can get both front and rear shoes at Kanter Auto Products for $89 a set of 4 shoes. Last month I bought a front set for a 56 Fury from Kanter.
