Probobly a fairly safe hydraulic cam spring. If you're running an aggressive solid or roller, I'd jump to a spring specific to that cam.

A friend bought the car turn key and I've been checking it over for him. Being unfamiliar with them heads and springs I wanted to make sure that it didn't have too much spring for the 509 hyd cam. It's his first drag car and I'd hate to see something major happen to him that could've been prevented.

I don't think he'll have an issue with that cam. I used a Comp 525 hyd and now a 555 solid with my OOTB eddy heads and have yet to see an issue.

I've been running the 84cc Eddys out of the box with a MP509 cam in my 440 for a few years and am very happy.

My sons 400 ran the stock springs that come on the Eddy heads for 2 years with his MP .557 cam. Not a single problem. We updated to dual springs and some mild port work over a year ago and he went from 11.55 @ 116 to 11.45 @ 117. Ron
