I've noticed some 68 b bodies have an ashtray that slides up and down to open/close. On my road runner and most others I've seen the ashtray just flips open. Was this an early/late build thing or part of some kind of interior package? Or is it a model specific thing like only on satellites?

I think 68 was a wacky year due to the 3 piece dashpads, 1 year only. A bodies were the same.

It's been discussed many times, early 68's got the slider but there is no real cutoff date as they used up one style before changing to the other so red & tan lasted longer than black & green...All trim levels got both styles...
