I just started my car for the first time in 1.5 years and as part of the restoration I had my power seering box rebuilt by Steer & Gear....they put firm feel in the box and it looks great. Well, today I started the car and all was great except for the steering box....steering wheel spins all the way left (unassisted) and I have no assit turing right....thought it might be air but after turning the wheel back and forth 4 to 6 time same thing. My fear is something major and the box will need to come out (pain in the $#&*@) and go back. Anyone know what might be causing this and maybe some trouble shooting tips before I have to remove.

It is a minor fix, you just need to adjust it. Do you have the factory service manual?

You just need to adjust/reposition the valve.
the valve is were the return hose is connected.2 7/16 bolts(if I remember right)loosen the 2 bolts slightly, then tap/move that valve alittle.will be trial and error, shouldn't take too long.easy, don't loosen too much, don't need to move it much, shouldn't have a problem with a leak either.

Someone else will probably chim in with more info, but don't panic or pull it yet. If it's set up like a standard mopar box you adjust it by loosening the two bolts on top where the hose comes out and you shift it a bit one way or the other to fix the problem. There is an o-ring under there so be carefull. If you have a manual it will describe the procedure. Don't jump in on my advice as I have only done it once with the help of a mechanic friend, But it is fairly simple. Good luck with it.

Loosen the 2 bolts that the hose attaches to the box and then tap it alittle.
