small block factory manifolds.I sandblasted and painted them with calyx.They look like crap after a couple years.But the car has been sitting,not driving yet.so I'm thinking of having them powdercoated.Any problems with that??will they last that way.car is built as a driver,so factory correct isn't that important.I do want it to last and look nice.Specific color to ask for??not just gray??

Does anyone make a high temp powder coat that would hold up to exhaust manifold temperatures?

Roger that ... jet-hot is kind of a hi-temp powder-coat but it is not cheap and they do not guarantee it.

In fact ... even powder-coating an intake manifold is risky ... if you run the exh heat crossover active.

I've personally seen intake and exhaust manifolds that were powder coated and the results looked horrible after a year. Look at what gas did to this powder coated intake.

I seen a few guys that have had luck with www.fireballcoatings.com coating their exhaust manifolds,(approx $250 pr).....I was thinking of giving them a shot, because I tried various forms of "natural" looking coatings over the years, only to have them waste away after hours/days/months/years.......I know rust is the prefered original look, but I prefer a clean raw cast look myself .......I have gone the clear powdercoated route on aluminum intake and cast iron exhaust manifolds, it turns brown with gas or high heat....

These were jethot coated. Looks great still need to fire the engine up though. My buddy had it done on his Buick they really hold up.

I have jet hot in driving distance.The coating Hooker used was not jet hot.the somewhat local place said he is eggting a bad Rapp since guys think the junk on Hookers is his process.
From what he showed me he has the chrome like finish as well as a stock as cast manifold look.
I have seen guy on this board recomend AirBorne Coatings think in MI

Jet hot seems to be the most reasonable at $180 a pair for bigblock.

I have to say I think the non gauranteed jetHot is really pricey compared to the $35 Eastwood coating. If the manifolds are prepped properly I see no need to go JetHot.

I did mine about 6-7 years ago and they still look great.

The Eastwood stuff is great. On the car for one year and looks like new. cant beat the price
