I've got a 493 with Scott Brown flat tappet mechanical cam, eddy performer heads, and crane 1.5 roller rockers. Any one tell me what what it would cost to go roller cam in this setup? Thanks, JP

Our cam was about 320.00,lifters and push rods was around 350.00. Plus you may need springs to match cam and a new timing chain also.
Good Luck

Thanks, hadn't thought about timing chain, I figured cam, lifters, push rods, springs. Then a friend of mine said locks and retainers as well as maybe some machine work on the heads for a taller spring. Starting to add up fast, but wasn't sure what actual cost is to do swap. JP

You will need a bronze dist. gear and a thrust button also. It usualy cost about $1,000.00 to $ 1,500.00 to convert over.

I figure right at $1000.00 for using a solid roller race cam in a new motor versus a flat tappet or hydraulic cam in the same motor the cost depends on the parts used, the lifters can be a big difference in price. Buy the good ones now

Don't know about the piston yet, that is a variable tbd when heads come off this week. I really appreciate all the good info. Thanks again.
