My trans bleeds fluid back and takes several seconds before car can move... runs well once it's going.. but if it sits for only an hour or so it does the same thing..I know there is a bleed back kit or something but don't know where to get it .. Where can I but this ? 727 BB

Most of us just put up with it. Personally, I always start my car in neutral rather than in park, but if just have to address the issue, here you go:

transgo sells what they call a no yoyo kit to stop bleed down.

the simple solution is start the car in neutral. the trans pump doesn't work in park. starting in neutral lets the trans pump fluid immediately.

When I rebuilt my 904, I installed an updated manual valve that would fill the converter in PARK. Not sure who makes it but it seems like that would be a popular mod. At the very least it allows you to more easily check the fluid level without having to put the car in neutral.

It doesn't prevent drain back but it does allow the converter to refill in Park.

I disagree on that statement on the pump tsk
The front trans pump works any time the motor is running scope
The stock valve bodies don't circulate the tranny fluid in park., but that can be fix as already pointed out up
The anti drain back valve on top of the valve body is usually the reason for the converter to allow the fluid in it to drain back into the tranny, which can result in slow fluid filling and making the tranny not work as soon as you start to use it wrench scope

I used to call the converter drain back "transmission morning sickness" it seems to happen with most Mopar automatic transmissions once they get near 100,000 miles, but it happens with some sooner then that. I always blamed the valve body.

The rules at my place were to start the vehicle, put the shifter in neutral for 20-30 seconds before you put it in any other gear. If you were in too much of a hurry to wait that 30 seconds, you were not allowed to drive my Mopars (the only vehicle choice at my place). Those 30 seconds seemed to do wonders for trans life. The next rule was you stop the vehicle with the brakes before you change direction (forward to reverse, or reverse to forward), that also improves trans life. I did snow plowing with my old Dodge 4x4 for 15 years with the same automatic transmission that was never rebuilt and only had the atf and filters changed. That trans was still working well when the truck rusted away around it. Gene

If it drains back that quick you have something wrong. I suspect something wrong or missing in the valve body.

A really worn front pump bushing will allow more rapid drain back. There is a drain cavity in front of the bushing that leads directly to the sump.
