After having a slew of 73/74 Dusters and Dart Sports over the past 20 years and one Challenger, I happened upon a 72 Duster. With the prices of even clapped out cars I figured I could handle it. Seeing as I have dealt with a few cars much worse including the Tradesman van. I'll post a video. I'm so used to 73+ that the differences on this one are a big jump to me, like the half metal/vinyl door panel surfaces, and I'm wondering how you all with 72 and back cars deal with brakes and aftermarket wheels. Do you go 73 and up on the brakes and rear axles or stay small bolt and deal with those.

It needs everything.

Mt '72 has been updated with FMJ knuckles, rotors and calipers, a '70 B body 8 3/4" axle and the 73-76 steering linkage.

Going to the 5 x 4.5 wheel pattern opens up your wheel choices.
Front sheetmetal is maybe easier because '69-up Valiant & Scamp parts fit.

If you're planning to fit 275/60x15 or larger in back:
Wheelhouse room is about the same as 73-up.
Dimensional accuracy of the body seems better on the earlier cars.
The 3/4" spring relocation still leaves them tight to the front inner sidewall.

I just got my '72 Duster running after it sat for 10 years in the back of the shop. Had it out the other day in the sun and shot a couple of pictures. Good luck with your project. If you were closer you could come over and pick thru the stack of parts I have left over from my build.

Thanks for the insight guys. I will look into what I can do with it down the road. Likely get the body solid as I usually do then get into the fun stuff!
