Doesn't matter how you count them any deaths is too many. Definitely if the count can be kept down by staying home for a little longer.

Sure, let's say the deaths are over counted by 100%. Instead of 2000+ a day, we have 1000+ day. In a bad year, the flu kills ~1000 per week.

Something is going on to cause all the additional deaths. I can almost put my finger on it...

This deal gets weirder almost by the day, with #s and conspiracy theories flying around that support almost any viewpoint you care to entertain.

In the words of a military buddy, "people are losing their sh*t".

That said, I feel lucky to be in a pretty rural location, maybe 10,000 people in a 10-mile radius. 3 known cases, no deaths.
In normal daily life, except for restaurants, bars, and Starbuck's, we're already basically social-distancing...

Where are you getting your 'facts'? According to the CDC, last year 34,000 died from the flu. But the year before, 61,000 died. With the grossly inflated mortality rates, this virus is mild compared to that. Any and all deaths are being contributed to this thing, whether it played a role or not. And by any standard applied, somewhere around 99% of those infected, survive. We should care about the truth so we can make informed decisions.

Here is the CDC's own numbers on the flu; https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html

And now, there is evidence that some deaths have happened was because of incorrect treatments. Blood oxygen levels appear to be a much better indicator of a patient's condition. By time they are struggling to breath and put on a ventilator, it's often too late.

https://www.statnews.com/2020/04/21/coronavirus-analysis-recommends-less-reliance-on-ventilators/

The facts are coming to light, but sometimes you have to look harder than the television to find them.

If the US was the only one reporting high deaths, then yea, something would be suspicious.

But we aren't the only ones.

Ecuador officially has ~500 deaths, but, ~5k more deaths have happened than a normal month.

Quote
Jorge Wated, who heads a government task force charged with collecting and burying bodies in Guayaquil, the epicenter of the outbreak, said that in the first 15 days of April, 6,703 people had died from either COVID-19 or natural causes. Previous to the coronavirus outbreak, he said, the monthly figure was around 1,000.

So, either there's a novel virus going around killing a lot more people than normal, or every single government is conspiring together to kill more people than normal, label them caused by the virus, so they can... take more control? Ok then.

People are the principle (but not sole) "spreaders" of any such germ. Now IF you can just "corral" those 10,000, with NO entering/leaving UNTIL all are vaccinated, you'll be Bona-Fide Safe. Where's the "Bubble Boy" when we need him?

Don't forget NY basically stopped counting Flu deaths March 21 and decided everything from then on was Covid-19. The NY counts now show completely unrealistic FLU counts from 3/21 on... not even close to believable. Even the CDC itself decided that they were going to switch everything over to Covid a week later... and then stopped updating the FLU page for good measure. A page that shows that this year "2020", was on track to break the 2017-18 season record, based on record hospitalizations, including the 2nd highest child mortality rate before they stopped counting... then all of a sudden the FLU just "ended" and Covid-19 jumped. You will never find a "competent" math teacher that taught statistics & probabilities that would look at what NY was claiming the last 3 weeks, and say..."Yeah, that could happen". eyes

I'm not referring to the high Covid numbers... I'm talking about the virtual complete disappearance of the flu from 3/22 forward... that has NEVER, EVER HAPPENED BEFORE.... EVER!

They are clearly over-counting covid & down-counting Flu & Pneumonia in NY

Even Spain & Italy didn't have the balls to claim that 98% of all illness related deaths between 3/14 & 4/3 were Covid-19 Spain put covid-19 deaths at 65% & Italy at 44% during that general time period... but not NYC... nope 98%. They claim almost no one with Flu, Pneumonia, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart problems decided to die or stroke out during those 3 weeks... right. realcrazy

And doesn't the recent $2.2T CARE package pay hospitals an extra $39,000 for every Covid-19 patient treated. Can you really trust stats, when money can influence them.
