Hi guys I am in the mix of getting a fully forged BGE 6.4 together to replace the 440 that is in my Dart. My goal is to get it running NA and then once that is sorted out I want to fab up a turbo kit for it. Right now I am torn on that transmission to use as I eventually want to be in the 800-1000hp range once the chassis is sorted out. I want it to be reliable and streetable. It will be 50/50, race/street. I have a powerglide,th400 and 727 in the garage. Which one would you guys choose and why? Thanks!

I'd sell those other turds and get a 545rfe. twocents

The rfe is bullet-proof, doesn't have as much power loss as a 727, and are plentiful/cheap to aquire.

there's a couple Paramount NAG1's for sale on the LX forums right now that are their 800-1000hp set up. Not sure how much street you want since you're considering a glide tho.

Personally I run naturally aspirated gen 3 powered challengers at 3400 lbs with Beefed up 727’s.
ET’s are 9.0s with a Transbrake.
These are not street driven tho.

I just asked this same question of my transguy. If I put a blower motor in my car, can I use my proflite trans or the turbo 400s and add a brake.
He responded turbo 400, Less service required, more readily available components as well for the 400.
