My son got a used 10" converter and I noticed the inner splined section will move easily both directions. Clockwise and counter clockwise. All of the other converters I have in the shop, including an 8" will only go one direction easily. Is his converter junk?

Not the correct way to test the converter stator.

You need to hold the stator then see if the stator race (splined portion) locks one way and freewheels the other.
