Any hood you buy is not going to be great, but unless you go with the expensive ASC&P hood, the Year One hood is probably your best choice. I've had to spend a lot at the body shop getting mine straight though, and had to add 3/8" to the leading edge of the hood to close the gap at the header panel. I don't really think they looked good brand new in 1970 though... so beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Do NOT use stock springs, and if you really don't want a warped hood, don't use springs at all.

I have a repo AAR fiberglass hood on my T/A. it is a great looking piece and i understood they used extra suppport brackets behind the hinge bolting areas. That said, after 2 years of being on the car it is starting to warp so I guess you are right.

The hood warps around the metal supports. They don't do all that much good.

Don't use the springs unless showing the car with the hood up. But when it's time to shut the hood, take the springs off and stick them in your glove box or console.
