I heard about this several days ago. With everyone massively using hand sanitizer there’s a danger to your pets especially dogs. Don’t let them lick your hands. Apparently hand sanitizers have ingredients that are found in antifreeze. I asked my vet and she confirmed that. You should also let the sanitizer totally absorb in the skin before handling food. Maybe a further look into this is prudent.
I should ad that what I have been reading some articles say no, doesn’t cause harm while others say yes. Probably air on the side of caution.

Propylene Glycol the main ingredient of "anti-freeze", is an additive in most commercial pet food to keep the "meat" moist... So most pet owner have been slowly poisoning their pets for years unknowingly.

The chemical of concern in antifreeze is ethylene glycol. Hand sanitizers, which are either ethanol- or isopropanol-based, do not contain ethylene glycol. It is true that ethylene glycol is very dangerous to pets (and humans) if ingested, even in small quantities, but such a fact is irrelevant to the issue at hand.
Although ethanol poisoning (i.e what happens when a human drinks a medically dangerous amount of alcohol) is possible if a pet were to consume large quantities of hand sanitizer, an animal merely licking a recently sanitized hand is not cause for concern. For that reason, the claim is “False.”

But the ingredient used in many things edible including pet food, cake frosting, laxatives and tooth paste is Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) PEG makes liquids like some Liquors, Fireball whisky, thicker to the tongue. It is used as a filler (its cut with dry PEG) in many pharmaceutical drugs. Miralax laxative is PEG 3350

Miralax laxative is PEG 3350 The big fight to keep all the cheaper pharmaceutical drugs from Canada and Mexico from coming into USA is quoting the 'Dangerous' ingredients inside. The anti import group keeps quoting that they use Antifreeze and other minerals in their drugs. The Canadian drugs use Polyethylene Glycol (PEG 3350) as a thickener/filler. They use Titanium Dioxide as a whitening. These are the same things that the USA manufactures are using in our drugs. Polyethylene Glycol is NOT the same as Ethylene Glycol.

Even the pot heads, not to be confused with the much brighter family like the us potato heads are goofy on top of goofy to smoke it. A not so smart friend tells me it tastes like antifreeze.
Polyethylene glycol (PEG): a cutting agent used in vape liquids to keep the product evenly mixed. Propylene glycol (PG): a binding agent that is added to cannabis vape cartridges because of its ability to foster even vape draws. Vegetable glycerin (VG): Added to vape liquids to help generate large vape clouds for the user.
Glycol is a water-miscible coolant that is frequently used in heat transfer and cooling applications. It provides better heat transfer parameters than water, and can be mixed with water to provide a variety of heat transfer characteristics. Glycol comes in two varieties: ethylene glycol and propylene glycol.
My cut and paste skills rock today.

Some of you guys are mixing up ETHYLENE Glycol with PROPYLENE Glycol. Big difference.
Ethylene is the main ingredient in traditional "Green" antifreeze that is highly toxic to pets and people. Propylene is a chemical used as an antifreeze, but it is generally non-toxic.
What the potato said.
We have several buildings on campus that have older 2-pipe heating and cooling--we have been converting over to Propylene in all the buildings. It makes any leaks in the future much simpler to clean up due to its non-toxicity.

My mixture of rubbing alcohol, food grade glycerine and aloe gel from our organic plants we grow in my opinion is better than anything on the shelf. I make it because I have sensitivities to some of the smells used in the commercial stuff. I'm planning to mix some up with high quality liquid lanolin so it's not so hard on the hands. RE: smoking (tobacco, pot, vape, etc) Diminished lung capacity from smoking, or even environmental contaminants from work, household chemicals and even poor air quality will have a detrimental effect on anyone contracting the virus that attacks one's lungs. I've often wondered if the high death rates in some countries is due to their air quality (environmental, smoking, smoke from cooking/heating fuels) and it's effect on their lungs. Regardless, substantial anmount of humans have no ability to resist the virus and it continues to run rampant through our world.
