2012 Chyrsler - she left the gas cap off so it threw a P0441 and lit up the check engine light. It's also gives a helpful "gas cap" plain english message in the EVIC. Not the first time it happened so she put the cap on and drove it long enough for the active DTC to clear and the evic message to go away. Plugged in a few of my favorite widgets the other day, found no active dtcs and no pending ones but 3 stored ones in the ECM - the 441 evac purge and a couple cruise control input errors.

None of the widgets that I have are able to clear that stored code that's keeping the light on. I'm thinking if that it was an actual hard evac purge issue I'd be getting an active dtc. In browsing around the web I read something about how emission related codes are supposed to be tough to clear to keep people from sneaking through emission testing.

So anyway, what app out there will sneak in and clear this code for me or do I have to pay somebody with an expensive scan tool to flip the bit?
