The LSU 4.9 wideband sensor has replaced the wideband sensor LSU 4.2. I just purchased a Zeitronix ZT-2 wideband and gauge kit off of Ebay for $330.00 saving $70.00. After some research I figured out that my new wideband kit has the older 4.2 O2 sensor, wiring and controller.

I read that the major difference between the LSU 4.9 and LSU 4.2 is the LSU 4.9 uses the reference pumping-current, while the LSU 4.2 uses the reference air. This allows the LSU 4.9 to get rid of the reference air, and therefore remove the biggest failure mode; as a result the LSU 4.9 has a long life and maintains accuracy throughout the life of the sensor. The LSU 4.9 sensor is also faster than the LSU 4.2 with an updated controller.

Should I keep what I have or spend $70.00 more plus sales tax to upgrade to the newer updated wideband kit with the 4.9 O2 sensor, wiring and controller?
