Hello
I had the 727 trans redone on a friends 69 Charger with a matching 383 hp. By mistake I have received a torque converter for a 440, with an external balance. I know that the 383 is internal balance, and it doesn't have the weights welded on. Since sending back to the US would be very expensive, can i simply grind the weights off the existing converter? Thank you for the help

Yes, just make sure it's not going to leak.

Post a picture of the weights in question - there are balancing weights and then there are external balancing weights.
You don’t want to grind off weights used to balance the converter.

Yep - external weight.

Carefully cut if off. Stop short of the spot weld. Hand file from there.
